Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix
Sunday, June 24th, 2007This morning I went to a private screening of the new Harry Potter Film in Leicester Square – where it’s going to premiere next week – thanks to John, who has just spent the last few months working on the film at his digital effects company.

We grabbed breakfast and a coffee in the square, which was sorely needed this early on a Sunday morning, and headed to the cinema. Just as with the James Bond screening John invited me to, despite checking everyone around me, none of the security guards checked my bag, but they did take our mobile phones.
The film was stunningly well made, the effects and sets were beautiful and the acting is always improving in the series – perhaps I wasn’t too empathetic with Harry’s struggle, but that could be because it felt like we’d seen it all before in the other films so far. Gary Oldman steals the show completely – as he always does in every film that he’s in. Definitely worth seeing if you get the chance.
It’s been great catching up with John again – we’ve been meeting up every weekend for the last few weeks – we hadn’t seen each other for a while after we moved out of our last flat.
The first weekend we met up, we took a walk through St James’ Park late at night – I always thought the park looked incredible during the day, but it looks just a good lit up at night – another thing everyone should do if they find themselves in the area at night – just try not to get mugged.
Only a week till the iPhone is released in the US and roughly six months till it’s released here in the UK. If you haven’t watched the tour yet, check It out.
