Aidan Williams - High Acuity

High Acuity is the personal weblog of Aidan Williams, a London-based Web Producer/Designer/Front-End Developer

January

Over the last week: I’ve seen three films in three different cinemas. Been out every night. Two of my team were ill on the same day so I had to cover their work and as well as my own for the day. We had a company Vision & Values meeting at the Century Club on Shaftsebury Avenue, for senior members of staff, which lasted from 2pm till 12am. Received an extremely kind email from the tech team from one of our biggest clients, praising the work I’d just completed for them. One of the websites for another of our biggest clients, which I did the front-end development for, was voted Website of the Week by our industry magazine New Media Age. I turned 25 on Saturday 20th. I had lunch with my mum in Soho and then my girlfriend threw a surprise party for me that evening at Ping Pong (also in Soho) before we all moved onto the couch bar – thanks to everyone for coming, especially those who travelled far, and to others for their messages and cards.

Smokin’ Aces, Apocalypto and Rocky Balboa are all worth seeing for a laugh.

Happy Birthday, Aidan! I’m so glad you had such a great time with your friends and family on your birthday. Hah, how does it feel to be 25?! There really is no turning back from this one… ;)

As for your week - wowee!! It is unbelievable, sometimes, the things I read that you have achieve during any given week of the year, Aidan…!! Congratulations on surviving what sounds like a really challenging set of days.

I’m really glad that people take the time to write back to you, sending you well deserved praise after a project is completed (that in itself says something incredible about the quality of work you produce).

Honestly, I am in admiring awe!

[…] I have a terrible cold. It set in over the weekend, which sucked because it was Aidan’s birthday and even though I had wanted desperately to party out all night, I had to leave the party at 9pm to avoid the smoky pubs (not good for a sore throat or fever). […]

Happy Belated Birthday Aidan. Sounds like you had a good time  Congrats on your awards too. People are quick to complain but slow to praise. It shows that your work is appreciated.

 Hi From Tcom too :)

Hey Aidan, sorry I had to leave kind of early, but I had a great evening. Looking forward to a Guitar Hero showdown/XBox 360 session some time!
btw, did you get the email I sent with the links to The Amazing Screw-on Head cartoons? Not sure if I sent it to the right address or not.

    Hi Aidan,

Not that I’m stalking you but somehow ended up finding your blog on the wonder that is the web. I just thought I’d say howdy, and hope your search for filling that vacancy goes well while I deal with the land of tv shopping.

    Caroline
