Hi Aidan, this really is a great little personal review of the iPhone. I inherited a 1st gen iPhone and so am a year or more behind in terms of my own evaluation of the device. Having said that, I'm finding that the iPhone is growing on me. The touch screen was a little difficult to get used to at first but I'm finding more and more that the soundless, almost intangible way you can type messages on it is somehow more satisfying than the clunky feel of an actual button. I'm still uncertain why this is... perhaps it's because the screen is more intuitive - or maybe it's because I've better learnt the iPhone's keypad proximity and am convinced it's the iPhone learning my finger typing style instead...? Who knows...

I am also starting to get used to holding a much larger device in my hands again. But I have to tell you, the iPhone most definitely is not my preferred mobile device for taking photos. I've had at least three Sony Ericsson camera phones and they beat the living daylights out of what the iPhone calls a 'camera'. I almost spit whenever I think about it. ;)

The apps are great fun. I've downloaded a few utilities as I'm, by nature, a wannabe walking Filofax so things like better calendar integration, notes organising and general hooking up with Google functionality is really my thing. Still, my opinion on the iPhone phenomena in general are still young...

Perhaps by the time you get the next gen in iPhone I'll be able to get my hands on what you're currently keeping in your pocket and give you a full review....

Of your iPhone 3G S, of course!! ;)
