Sundae on the common

I’ve been doing lots of admin work, lots of talking to clients, and have been learning some new technologies lately as well. We got our business account sorted out last week after a meeting with an incredible bank manager who was recommended to us. Luckily she managed to get the account signed up and approved in 24 hours (which is better than the three to four weeks I know some friends have had to wait). Things have been going great so far and I can honestly say with no equivocation that I haven’t felt this happy and healthy in a long time.

The Transformers Movie

Last weekend Oleg, Veronika, my girlfriend and myself went to see an early preview of the Transformers movie. I really wasn’t sure what to expect given that half the reviews say it’s brilliant and half that it’s terrible, but this film is incredible! if you want something that’s fun, has similar humour to the cartoons, and absolutely jaw-dropping visuals, then this film is for you. However, be warned: this film does have Michael Bay’s trademark cheesy moments where you can actually speak the lines just before they’re said on screen.

the Simpsons Movie

My girlfriend and I also went to see The Simpsons Movie very late on Thursday night and… it’s good… it’s just like a long episode and I’d even go as far as to say that I’ve enjoyed some 30 minute episodes a lot more than I enjoyed the film, but it’s still brilliant and worth seeing.

London South Bank of the River Thames

David and I met up early on Saturday morning at Borough market and walked along the south bank of the river Thames into town. I’ve created a new section showing some of the pictures from my time here in London so far.

Yesterday was the Ben & Jerry’s Sundae On The Common event. I can’t say I paid that much attention to the bands that were playing, but I enjoyed the ice cream and met up with so many people that I haven’t seen (at least face to face) in a long time. The weather cleared up, I got a little sunburned, and it was a really great day.

That’s a fantastic photo of you! Quite the change from the paternal image seen of you earlier this month. :)

It’s great that you’re feeling so much happier and healthier since you’ve started working for yourself again. I’m so very happy for you! It seems that your business partner and yourself are really keeping it together and the preparation work is paying off. Well done, Aidan (and Sanjit!!). :)

I had a fab time at the Sundae on the Common, myself. Seeing some of my own friends and making new ones was great. It was really fantastic that we got to catch up with each other and with a few of our mutual friends in the city, as well.

Transformers ROCKS! I really liked the movie despite its cheesy script. I think it really picked up on the comedy/adult humour that was often included in the 80s cartoon show, although The Simpsons was a real disappointment for me. I think I’ve become far too accustomed to shocking comedy as opposed to the subtle cultural commentary comedy of The Simpsons. I moved on from that a long time ago.

Thanks Chorna, but it’s still early days. :) It was great to spend time with you too, it’s just a shame we didn’t get to go down the helter skelter.

I did that the last time I went – with you, I believe! – and it wasn’t all that… at least… it’s not all that anymore. :( I’ve grown up a little bit… OOH! A SWING!!!

    :D
